Meet the Doctor

From the time he was young, Dr. Petchauer recalls sitting at the supper table listening to his father (who was also a chiropractor) tell stories about the amazing results chiropractic had produced in the lives of people he had treated. This so impressed Dr. Petchauer, that he made the decision to follow in his father's footsteps.

Dr. Petchauer was raised in Western Michigan and did his undergraduate studies at Aquinas College. Next he studied at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where he earned a degree in Biblical history. He then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic where he graduated with a doctor of chiropractic degree in 1983. He entered practice with his father for 3 years before opening his own office on the north side of Holland. He has been married to his wife Pamelea for over 30 years and they have 2 grown children, Ellary and Emery.

Dr. Petchauer takes not only the opportunity, but the responsibility to work with each patient very seriously. He continually attends post graduate studies in many different areas that relate to his patient's needs. He specializes in the Gonstead method of chiropractic, which is often referred to as the "gold standard" of chiropractic. He has over 1000 hours of advanced study in the method, putting him in the top 10 percent in the nation. He also has tested and achieved the highest level in the Gonstead Technique Registry at Palmer College of Chiropractic. In 2003, Dr. Petchauer was honored with the Gonstead Seminar of Chiropractic's "Best of the Best" award. He continues not only to study Gonstead Chiropractic, but to mentor other chiropractors in this technique.

It is important to stay current in this rapidly advancing field. Dr. Petchauer has advanced training in the areas of nutritional evaluations and treatment programs.
